The Ministry of Digital Transformation, together with the State Customs Service, prepared changes in the legal framework regarding the new mechanism for customs clearance of cars, and also developed a new customs duty calculator.
According to Ukrinform, this was announced on Telegram by the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
“The vehicle customs clearance process with a few clicks in Diya will simplify the service and fight corruption. Because we completely exclude the human factor. Now the teams have prepared a change in the legislation. Customs collection will be made according to the new calculation system,” he said.
Fedorov explained that under the new legislation, the main parameters during customs clearance of a car will be the year of manufacture, engine type and volume. Like the whole process, the calculation of customs duty will be done with the help of an Action.
For example, if Ukrainians have a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander with gasoline and a displacement of 2 liters, they will have to pay only 5,280 UAH, instead of 19,320 UAH, according to the new rules. You can try the new customs tax calculator from the link.
“We expect MPs to support the service, which will make life easier and save money for thousands of Ukrainians. In the meantime, share your feedback on possible changes in the customs area and customs clearance of cars in Diya,” summed up Fedorov.
As reported, USAID plans to allocate $650,000 to build Ukraine’s digital experience and an approach to the distribution of the Diya mobile app to other countries.
