Huawei is known for innovations in its devices. In the past, the company has rolled out many features that have caught the attention of customers and tech enthusiasts around the world. Huawei has recently published a new patent for a cost-effective stereoscopic projection technology that could open up exciting opportunities for both retailers and consumers. The Chinese technology giant applied for a patent on July 27, 2022 and was published on January 20, 2023 with application number CN202211090428.

Stereographic projection is a technique that displays the angular features of a flat object in a single image. In this technique, both directions and planes can be drawn, and any desired angle can be measured directly from the projection itself with the help of graphical techniques. However, in stereoscopic projection, two images are projected simultaneously: one to the left eye and the other to the right eye. This latest Huawei patent includes a lighting unit, a spatial light modulator, and a diffuser screen that work together to simultaneously project two images visible to the left and right eye 60 times per second.

The spatial light modulator can project two separate images at different angles onto the diffusion screen. By sharing a spatial light modulator, the cost of a stereoscopic projection system can be reduced, making it a cost-effective solution. The patent outline shows that the technology is mainly focused on stereoscopic projection systems and can be used to view 3D projections, allowing consumers to watch 3D movies from the comfort of their homes.

This exciting development by Huawei has the potential to achieve a new level of experience for consumers by providing cost-effective and high-quality 3D projections. in the coming years
