Honor’s Magic 5 series has been in the headlines for a while, and today the company has finally confirmed its global launch date. As expected, the new series will debut in the global market during the MWC event in Barcelona. Alongside its flagship series, the brand will also introduce the latest foldable Magic Vs model. Here are all the details.
As officially confirmed by Honor, the Magic 5 series and foldable Magic Vs will debut at the MWC event on February 27. The event will begin at 13:30 CET and will be streamed live for those interested. The Honor Magic 5 series should include three smartphones based on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processors: vanilla Magic 5, high-end Magic 5 Pro and top-end Magic 5 Prestige Edition.
The trio is said to feature a 6.8-inch LPTO OLED panel with 1Hz-120Hz refresh rate, 2160Hz PWM dimming, 480Hz touch sampling rate; HDR10+ and up to 1100 nits brightness. They should run on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor along with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 5.0 storage.
The standard model is said to have 5,000mAh and 66W fast charging, while the other two models are expected to feature a 4,800mAh unit with 50W wired and wireless charging. The 40W UFCS charging standard will be supported by the three models. All will run on Android 13 with Magic UI 7.0.
Moving on to Magic Vs, the foldable device is already on sale in China and has a sleek and stylish design. It offers an advanced gearless hinge created using one-piece casting technology. It has a built-in 7.9x OLED display with a resolution of 2272×1984 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 90 Hz, and a peak brightness of 800 nits.
