According to information published by the international portal Bloomberg, Baidu intends to launch a service that competes with ChatGPT. The Chinese search giant wants to provide users with an AI capable of producing results similar to the OpenAI chatbot.

Google Founders Concerned About ChatGPT

The competing AI will be based on Baidu’s Ernie system, a large-scale machine learning model. According to the company, the system has been trained for several years and “perfectly understands and reproduces natural language.” Bloomberg notes that Baidu has reportedly seen low search growth and sees ChatGPT as a way to beat its main competitors in searchlike google.

ChatGPT is the sensation of the moment. AI OpenAI has shown its potential by beating 80% of students in the selection process, and has also received billions of dollars of investment from Microsoft. AI has a high ability to answer questions, imitate human writing, and even generate codes. Despite this, the mechanism also raises concerns about plagiarism and the dissemination of false information.

Everyone is worried about ChatGPT

Baidu isn’t the only big company looking for a solution to compete with ChatGPT’s results. OpenAI’s AI is giving the founders of Google headaches, and the company’s top management is holding emergency meetings looking for solutions. CEO Sundar Pichai declared “code red” on ChatGPT and the company is reportedly preparing to show some 20 AIs, including a chatbot for the search engine.

While ChatGPT is showing its full potential and capabilities, several companies around the world are wary of the results of AI. As new solutions are being created, technology is evolving and the scenario can become very competitive. In addition, AIs are gaining more autonomy and will soon be defending clients in US courts.
