Canadian startup LoopX.ai has developed a GoosEx robot that will deliver food to students on the University of Waterloo campus.

LoopX.ai created this robot to demonstrate its technology and ability to deal with adverse weather conditions in Canada.
“We want to use our autonomous machine to reduce costs and use robot to reduce carbon emissions,” said Chao Yu, founder and CEO of LoopX.ai.
“It is equipped with a set of sensors that can operate in adverse weather conditions,” added Yaodong Cui, director of innovation at LoopX.ai.
The company said other robot couriers often can’t handle it when they see snow, but GoosEx was able to recognize it and walk through it.
It is noted that customers within a radius of three kilometers will be able to order online and receive a code in return. The food is then loaded into the insulated compartment of the robot and is usually on its way to its destination within half an hour.
When GoosEx arrives, customers enter a code and the door of the robot opens.
If GoosEx encounters an obstacle, it will bypass it and continue on the delivery path.
However, if the vehicle encounters something that it cannot get around, it can send a message to the remote control team to get the vehicle back on track.
The robot’s developers say the technology could help ease the burden on delivery companies.
