Russian hackers are increasingly carrying out cyberattacks against ordinary Ukrainians.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the press service of the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine.
It is also stated that the number of information and psychological operations against the Ukrainian population has increased through social networks and messengers.
The attackers are phishing to get the identity information of Ukrainians. Meta warns of hacking accounts of military and public figures with the help of previously stolen credentials in phishing mails. On hacked accounts, Russian hackers are making propaganda and urging Ukrainians to surrender.
Hackers often speculate about patriotic issues and government payments via phishing emails.
The service urges citizens not to open letters from unknown recipients, not to follow links from such letters and not to enter their personal data on the pages with links, as well as to activate two-factor authentication on social networks and all services that support it. service.
Attackers can also send mail to spy on a person and their contacts. In addition, the number of phishing scams is increasing under the guise of information about state aid to internally displaced persons and Ukrainians temporarily going abroad. The attackers who carry out such mails keep a close eye on Ukrainian news and quickly respond to any news of help.
The State Special Communications Service is responsible for tracking links in such messages and providing a bank card number, phone number, etc. stresses that it is not necessary to quit.
You can receive financial assistance from the state only in the “Actions” section. Information on payments in other countries can only be found at the official institutions of these countries.
As Ukrinform reported, government team CERT-UA found a fake Facebook page that offered to “get financial aid from EU countries”, thereby trying to steal payment card data.
