Japanese researchers from telecommunications giant NTT Docomo, Keio University and Nagoya Institute of Technology have developed a new technology that allows users to share their sense of touch with their hands.
As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by NHK.
According to them, this is the first system of its kind in the world.
It is stated that this system uses sensors to measure the frequency of a barely perceptible vibration that a person feels when touching an object with their hand.
The data obtained can then be used to reproduce this vibration of the device in another person’s hand.

The researchers say the system could help teach and maintain tactile skills such as traditional crafts.
The technology could also find application in online retail, allowing apparel shoppers to “feel the stuff” before purchasing.
As Ukrinform reports, scientists from Tsinghua University and Xi’an Polytechnic University (PRC) have developed an ultra-thin, antimicrobial and breathable sensor that can track human body movements and even barely detect human facial expressions.
