“We reached a significant milestone in the December quarter and we are excited to announce that we now have more than 2 billion active devices in our growing installed base,” Cook said.
This milestone marks the rapid growth in popularity of Apple products. In 2016, it registered 1 billion active devices, in 2020 – 1.5 billion, and a year ago – 1.8 billion.
As the publication indicates, this figure is not yet in line with the number of gadgets used in the Android operating system. According to Google’s 2021 reports, there were 3 billion Android devices in the world.
