A third-party developer has already added ChatGPT to Word

Creative Data Studios developed a plug-in for Microsoft Word called Ghostwriter ChatGPT that adds chatbot functionality to the text editor. The innovation was created without the involvement of Microsoft.

The plugin is currently available in two versions: $10 and $25. The first is limited to two-paragraph short answers and uses the ChatGPT language model only. More advanced, exempt from such restrictions, includes all OpenAI models. You can install an add-in through the Office Add-on Store.

In addition, the developers promise the rapid release of similar add-ins for all programs in the Microsoft suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote. After the release of the add-on set, users who have purchased a plug-in for Word will receive a discount.

According to Ghostwriter developer Patrick Husting, Microsoft will disable Ghostwriter in the future when its ChatGPT support implementation is ready. However, this option is still available.

It was previously reported that Microsoft has added support for the GPT-3.5 model to Teams Premium, which will allow the neural network to listen to conversations, take notes and make plans based on results. Also, Microsoft plans to add ChatGPT to the Bing search engine, but rumor has it it will already be GPT-4.
