ASUS introduced the Vivobook 13 Slate OLED, a Windows tablet with detachable keyboard and styluswhich combines a high-quality display with the latest Intel budget series processors.
The Taiwanese manufacturer continues to renew its catalog of consumer equipment, and if we knew about the Vivobook Go laptops last week, now it’s time for the 2-in-1 that we already liked in previous versions. And it is that the offer of mid-range Windows tablets is not very large, and with the approach of this ASUS model, we can highlight only the Microsoft Surface Go 2 and very little else.
The very name of this Vivobook 13 Slate OLED tells us that its screen will be the star component. It is multi-touch 13.3 inches diagonally with OLED technology which is usually reserved for higher priced models. It supports Dolby Vision, is Pantone verified for 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and is DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified. It is also TÜV Rheinland certified to reduce blue light emissions by up to 70% compared to a typical LCD.
A 2 in 1 “stage” is listed ASUS Pen 2.0MPP 2.0 compatible stylus with 4096 levels of pressure, four interchangeable tips and one-click access to convenient Bluetooth functions via the shortcut button and also full size keyboard Magnetically attached, with a large touchpad and a rear stand that will suit desktop use and multitasking.
ASUS chose Intel N processors to include the price of this Vivobook 13 Slate OLED. You already know that they are destined to cover the range of entry into computers, filling the gap left by the discontinued Celeron and Pentium. The manufacturer offers the option of installing an Intel N200 or a Core i3-N300 which with its 8 cores is perfect for 2v1 due to its performance and low consumption. It is complemented by up to 8 GB of LPDDR5 memory and an SSD of up to 512 GB.
Also noteworthy is its connectivity with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, a webcam with IR for security tasks, two USB 3.2 Gen2 ports and a microSD memory card reader. Its audio system has been improved with four speakers and Dolby Atmos, while its autonomy will be 10 hours with a 50 Wh battery. Its chassis supports the US military MIL-STD-810H durability standard.
The Vivobook 13 Slate OLED can be used in multiple modes of use (tablet, notebook…) and also as a wireless secondary display for other mobile devices or PCs via the Mirror and Extend functions. It comes pre-installed with Windows 11 (Pro, Home or S mode) and no price was given. The original model went on sale for $599 and that should be the benchmark. A good 2 in 1 for the middle class.
