This was expressed by the CEO of Alphabet Inc. and Google subsidiary Sundar Pichai reports Ukrinform citing Bloomberg.
Technology must produce detailed answers to simple questions like what to cook for dinner or how to plan a party.
Bard is said to be available to trusted testers for now and will be available to other users in the coming weeks.
“We will combine external feedback with our internal testing to ensure that Bard’s responses meet high quality and safety standards and are based on factual information,” Pichai said.
Bard’s launch comes amid the company’s struggles in its flagship search business, which is its main source of revenue. Last week, Alphabet said sales fell short of expectations due to the decline in digital advertising and investor concerns about artificial intelligence competition, particularly from Microsoft-backed Open AI ChatGPT.
As mentioned, Bard will be based on LaMDA, a broad language model developed by Google.
According to a Google representative, testers selected for early access are a geographically diverse group of outsiders who will help improve the service.
Pichai said that in addition to the launch of Bard, Google will allow developers to use language models to build their own apps and will begin opening its API to companies, developers and creators next month.
Last week, the company announced a partnership with artificial intelligence startup Anthropic, which is testing its own chatbot to compete with ChatGPT. According to a Bloomberg collaborator, Google has also invested nearly $400 million in the venture.
ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence chatbot developed by OpenAI lab. It is a large statistical language model optimized and debugged for conversations thanks to learning with a teacher and reinforcement learning techniques. The prototype is based on the OpenAI GPT-3.5 model, which is an enhanced version of GPT-3.
The ChatGPT prototype was released on November 30, 2022. While their true accuracy was open to criticism, they caught the attention of the audience with their detailed and well-formed answers.
