This was announced by Ural Motorcycles CEO Ilya Hait, according to Ukrinform’s reports based on Russian media.

According to him, production in Irbit stopped on March 7. It was impossible to deliver foreign components to the plant. Problems also arose with the import of finished equipment from Russia. As a result, they decided to eliminate both problems by moving to Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan.

The Irbit Motorcycle Factory will not be completely shut down: it will produce frames and body elements. But Hait warned that the company would have to lay off some of its employees in Irbit and hire new ones in Petropavlovsk.

Kazakhstan was chosen for two reasons: the Russian-speaking population and the ability to quickly establish logistics chains. However, Hait predicts a decline in motorcycle sales.

Let’s remind: problems at Ural Motorcycles and most other Russian companies started because of the sanctions imposed on Russia after the war in Ukraine.

As you know, on February 24, Russia launched a new phase of the eight-year war against Ukraine – full scale attacker. The enemy carries out intense shelling and shelling of peaceful Ukrainian towns and villages. The Armed Forces, the Territorial Defense Forces and the entire Ukrainian people are actively resisting the Russian troops and inflict heavy losses on them.
