Model OLED908 uses MLA (Micro Lens Array) technology to increase the brightness of the device, without demanding more from OLED display components. This helps to increase the life of the TV, especially if the brightness is always maximum. In addition, to achieve a peak brightness of 2100 nits, the OLED908 uses a heatsink to help transmit brightness without adding stress to the components.

The OLE908 sound system is a set of 80-watt under-screen front speakers designed by Bowers & Wilkins. The OLED808 is designed to be economical compared to the 908. The TV does not have MLA technology or a heatsink, instead it uses OLED EX panel with 1000 nits peak brightness. The OLED808’s sound system is also not as reliable as the 908’s, as it comes with Philips’ own 70W speaker system, with the exception of the 42-inch version, which is only 50W. Finally, OLED808 has Ambilight features, improved interface and Dolby Vision 4K/120Hz or 4K/120Hz support as well as VRR from 40Hz to 120Hz for gaming.

Finally, Philips will also release the Xtra model, a mini LED version available in 55″ and 65″ sizes. The device will have a maximum brightness of 1000 nits and a refresh rate of 120Hz. You new devices from the company should enter the market in the second half of 2023.
