Well-known insider and journalist Mishaal Rahman said that as reported, native support for app cloning for developers has appeared in the new version of Android 14. The corresponding item is in “Settings” > “Programs” > “Clone programs”.

As a result, this feature works the same as third-party apps. The cloned application will need to be set up again, as the data from the main profile will not be transferred to it. At the same time, the clone can be deleted as a separate program (the main program will not be affected).

As an example, Rahman cited the cloning of Discord.

That being said, it is reported that not all apps are cloneable yet, at least. Copying proprietary Google programs, including Gmail and YouTube, is prohibited.
