Since Elon Musk’s arrival at Twitter, Twitter Blue has been part of his plans to improve the monetization of the social network. After some twists and turns regarding its price and initial problems with auto-granting authenticated (what we could call “verified without verification”), which made it clear how badly this matter was managed from the beginning, for a few months the waters seem to have returned to normal, so the subscription modality of the social network seems to be working properly. We actually told you a few days ago that its users would be the first (and who knows if the only) to be able to post tweets of up to 4,000 characters.

Both with the previous address and the current one, the social network seemed and seems clear Twitter Blue can become one of the main ways of monetizing the social network but even so, the service has barely expanded internationally until now. Currently only available in five countries, Twitter has been neglecting international demand, which, while not overwhelming, is big enough to make it act a little faster.

However, it seems that steps are finally being taken in this direction, and as we can see if we access the social network, either through the Android and iOS applications or its web client, or more directly if we access to this address, Twitter already allows you to hire Twitter Blue in Spainas well as other countries in Europe, Asia and South America.

Specifically, the European countries that already have access to Twitter Blue are, in alphabetical order, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, and Portugal. They are in all five Twitter Blue fees:

Monthly fee when concluding a contract from Android or iOS: 11 euros.

Monthly fee when concluding a contract from the website: 8 euros.

Annual quota: 84 euros.

The Asian countries where the service reaches are Saudi Arabia, India and Indonesia, while in South America the subscription modality will be available only in Brazil for the time being. However, this movement Looks like Twitter has decided to step on the gas with its international expansion, so we can expect new announcements in this regard during this year.

As for the benefits that Twitter Blue provides with respect to free accounts on the social network, they are as follows:

  • Verified account badge for users who have linked their mobile number to a Twitter account.
  • Access post-post editing functionality.
  • The possibility of publishing messages of up to 4000 characters.
  • 50% less advertising.
  • Recording longer videos in high definition (up to 1080p)
  • Early access to new features

In addition, as we can read on the information page, another measure will soon be implemented, which was also announced, and this will give Prioritize user responses over those originating from Twitter Blue accounts. On the other hand, it is not mentioned in the list, but we understand that it also includes the option, present in the subscription mode since its inception, to organize the items stored in folders.

In my personal case, and although I find some of the exclusive features of Twitter Blue interesting, it is not worth the subscription (at least today), but it is something strictly personal and can change over time. What do you think? Do you find what it has to offer interesting? Thinking of subscribing? And if that’s the case for you, what encouraged you the most?
