The use of artificial intelligence is increasing day by day. This technology, which entered our lives as simple voice assistants before, now appears as chatbots that help us in every aspect of the business. Big tech companies that want to take advantage of this trend have already taken action. Microsoft invested heavily in the development of ChatGPT and integrated it into their products, while Google started using its own Bard chatbot. Opera now places ChatGPT in the sidebar. Details are here…

Opera puts ChatGPT in sidebar

Opera is undoubtedly one of the most functional browsers in the world. It includes many different tools, and the company adds a new one almost every day. The latest addition is ChatGPT, a popular AI chatbot recently. Opera adds a ChatGPT-based tool to the sidebar that creates short summaries of web pages and articles. The feature, called “Shorten”, is part of the company’s broader plans to integrate AI tools into its browser, similar to what Microsoft did with Edge.

ChatGPT is very easy to use, as you can see in a short video posted on Opera’s official YouTube channel. You can activate the feature by selecting the “Shorten” button on the right side of the address bar. From there, a sidebar with ChatGPT will appear on the left, creating a neat, bulleted summary of the article or webpage you’re viewing.

Per Vetterdahl, Opera’s head of strategic partnerships and artificial intelligence ecosystem, said in a statement: “We are excited to see the rapid deployment of developer programs for solutions like Google Bard, for example, and to start building and deploying new capabilities. while navigating web pages that recently seemed impossible.” However, the “reduce” function is not yet available to everyone, but it is expected to be available to everyone soon.
