In late January, Patently Apple published an intellectual property report covering Apple’s second design patent for the iPhone 14 Pro, called “Dynamic Island.” On Friday, the Hong Kong Patent Office published Apple’s third patent for the Dynamic Island design. Apple has also acquired a registered trademark for ShazamKit.
Unlike “patent applications” that present the summary, summary and details of the invention to the public, design patents issued worldwide are limited to presenting only design patent numbers to the public. No additional design details were provided.
On Friday, the Hong Kong Patent Office awarded Apple a third patent for the “Dynamic Island” design. All that is implied in the design is the actual dynamic island shown in two different images showing the 3 sensors/cameras. Other images of the iPhone 14 Pro in the Hong Kong design patent fully confirm the position and overall appearance of Dynamic Island on the iPhone. None of the outlines form part of this design patent.
