Microsoft is preparing a new customization option that will allow users – and gamers above all else. Controlling RGB lighting of your components and peripherals from a special menu of your configuration tool.
This feature unifies these RGB lighting customization processes: Different utilities from manufacturers like Razer or Logitech are normally used to set these preferences, but Microsoft would like to offer its own menu to control all these options as well.
feature looks like being developed internally and it was leaked by a user who had this option in one of the Windows 11 preview builds.
The leaked screenshot shows how the Windows 11 Settings tool can access Windows 11. Personalization menu and then to “Lighting” which gives access to different peripherals that support such RGB preferences.
The success of this new tool, of course, depends on whether peripheral manufacturers offer support for controlling these options from Windows 11 itself, but it is certainly a practical and interesting innovation for users who enjoy such peripherals and components in their PCs and laptops.
Microsoft also seems to be considering the use of this tool to improve the Windows 11 user experience and may allow customize notifications using these RGB backlit peripherals.
Therefore, the microphone may change color when muted or when we speak in Microsoft Teams, and the keyboard may also show a small color pattern if we receive a notification of a new chat message in Teams or apps like Slack.
Just because this option has been leaked doesn’t necessarily mean it will appear in Windows 11. Still, this improvement appears to be advanced and will be linked to the “Moment 3” update of Windows 11, which we expect in May or June. .
