What happened
The company doesn’t say which sites have been targeted by hackers, but some are. popular game provider, cryptocurrency companies, hosting providers and cloud computing platforms.
Cloudflare also clarifies that these attacks are not related to the Super Bowl or the recent activity of the Russian crime group Killnet.
This attack campaign started less than two weeks after Killnet’s DDoS campaign targeting health websites. Based on the methods and objectives, we do not believe that these latest attacks are related to a public health campaign. Additionally, the US Super Bowl was held yesterday, and we do not believe this offensive campaign is related to that event. – explained on the blog.
