The State Special Communications and Information Protection Service warns of sending dangerous emails to an employee of one of Ukraine’s state bodies.

As Ukrinform reports, the State Special Communications Service reports in a Telegram.

The government’s Computer Emergency Response Team CERT-UA, operating under the auspices of the State Special Communications Service, warns against sending emails containing an attachment containing malicious programs. This time, cybercriminals “talked” about COVID-19.

These letters contain attachments in the XLS document format “Request for help COVID-19-04_5_22.xls”. Its discovery will download GraphSteel and GrimPlant malware, and cyber attackers will gain access to basic information about the attacker’s computer.

Experts state that the emails were sent from a compromised account of an employee of a Ukrainian government agency.

The event is associated with the events of the UAC-0056 group. The same group was involved in several cyber attacks in March. At that time, the attackers paralyzed among Ukrainians about increasing the level of information security and unpaid salaries.

As Ukrinform reports, Russian hackers are increasingly carrying out cyberattacks against ordinary Ukrainians.
