LineageOS team, one of the most popular unofficial software for Android-based smartphones, announced the release of LineageOS based on Android 12 operating system LineageOS 19 has announced a significant list of new features and improvements. The WebView system component for displaying web content in Android apps has been updated to Chromium 100.0.4896.58. Introduced in Android 12, the sound panel has been completely redesigned and implemented as a pop-up sidebar.

The dark theme is enabled for silence. There is a completely new setup wizard with all the new icons, animation and many new customizable pages in the style of Android 12, as well as the new default wallpaper and a completely new set of wallpapers to choose from – taking into account the Android themes 12 Monet. There is special charging sounds support for different types of wired or wireless charging.

Many enhancements have been added to the Gallery, software update tool, LineageOS Jelly web browser, FOSS Etar calendar program, Seedvault backup program, LineageOS Recorder (call recording and voice recorder).

In addition, Android TV builds now come with an ad-free Android TV launcher as opposed to an ad-enabled Google launcher. A key handler has also been added to support user keys on a wide range of Bluetooth and infrared remote controls.

The list of smartphones supported in LineageOS 19 is quite extensive – there are more models from different manufacturers, from Google to OnePlus, Nokia, Asus, Samsung, Sony, Motorola, Razer, Xiaomi and Poco. The developers are actively planning to expand it. Source
