The BlackWidow V4 Pro is the culmination of a series of gaming keyboards that debuted nearly 13 years ago and really put Razer in the spotlight among high-performance peripheral manufacturers. Personally, I like the series the most out of all the models that the manufacturer has, as you could see in the analysis of the previous version.
BlackWidow V4 Pro goes one step further and you won’t go wrong if you bet on it as we face “pure” mechanical keyboard Packed with features for gamers and computer enthusiasts to enhance their gaming experience. The keyboard offers a full-size plus numeric keypad with an aluminum frame and dual-angle stands. Features a synthetic leather magnetic wrist rest for added comfort.
Includes double-layer ABS keys with the latest generation Razer mechanical switches, offered in two variants, Green Clicky for tactile feedback or Yellow Linear switches for smoother and quieter operation. Razer ensures a life cycle of up to 100 million keystrokes. Its polling frequency reaches up to 8,000 Hz.
Like all Razer keyboards, the BlackWidow V4 Pro is designed for full body immersion Chroma RGB lighting technology. It has individual lighting for each key, amplified by lighting through the transparent cover of its switches, for a brighter and stronger effect. This is enhanced by the lower lighting in 38 zones, which also extends into the armrest. Users can sync their compatible devices with the Razer Chroma RGB app and through the Razer Synapse 3 app with those from third-party manufacturers. Over 200 games are integrated with Chroma, where RGB lighting reacts based on actions or situations that happen in the game.
BlackWidow V4 Pro, more control
Another excellent ingredient is a Control wheel which provides advanced controls and shortcuts for applications and video games. It has 8 preset default modes, from zooming the browser window to switching browser tabs. In addition, users can plan their day with up to 100 custom modes that allow them to match the day’s clockwise or counter-clockwise action to their preferred action. For daily use, users can schedule multiple application shortcuts such as Photoshop brush size adjustment, timeline scrolling, and more.
Each mode can be switched with a simple click of the control dial and is easily identified by the color-coded backlight of the control knob. In addition, there are 5 dedicated macro keys that allow you to perform complex actions with the press of a button during the most intense moments of games, and an additional 3 side keys 8 macro keys. It also has 4 dedicated buttons for controlling multimedia media.
Let’s say this keyboard has two USB-C ports and one USB-A port. The first USB-C port is the one that allows you to connect to a computer. But the second USB-C port works as a pass-through for the USB-A connector, to which you can connect a mouse, USB drive or other accessories.
The Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro is available at Razer.com, manufacturer stores and authorized Razer resellers. €269.99. The best gaming keyboard? It’s not cheap, but it looks great.
