Hisense patents a unique smartphone design with a three-dimensional display

On February 17, 2023, Hisense announced a new patent for a smartphone with a unique design that has excited the tech community. The design of the new smartphone is relatively square, with a flat screen on the front, very thin bezels on three sides and no holes for a clean and minimalist look. The phone is expected to use an under-screen camera or pop-up camera design combined with a rectangular middle frame, thus giving people a plain and tough look.

One of the most striking features of the new Hisense smartphone is its three-dimensional display. The screen extends from the bottom of the body to the back, creating a striking and stylish look similar to the 3D display of Xiaomi’s MIX Alpha smartphone, except that the MIX Alpha uses a horizontal bezel. The new smartphone also features a quad-camera rear design with three vertically positioned cameras and a so-called periscopic telephoto lens on the side. There seems to be a standalone camera on the side of the body that adds to the overall unique design of the phone.

For now, Hisense sells e-reader smartphones, all of which use custom-made ink screens to protect the eyes. The display of the new patented smartphone is expected to use flexible OLED materials along with a three-dimensional display. However, real mass production is unlikely due to technical issues. It is worth noting that the Xiaomi MIX Alpha, released in 2019, was abandoned due to the complexity of production and its price was close to 20,000 yuan. Therefore, Hisense’s new smartphone is expected to carry a high price tag if it launches.

The announcement of a new Hisense smartphone patent is an exciting development in the smartphone industry, thanks to its unique and stylish design, large display and camera module. While this isn’t possible for mass production, it certainly pushes the boundaries of smartphone design and innovation and sparks our interest in what the future of phones might look like.
