Five new adoption services appear in Diya

Five new adoption services are launched on the Diya portal.

This was announced on Telegram by the President’s wife, Olena Zelenska, Ukrinform reports.

“Previously, you could get advice on adoption here (in “Dia” – ed.) and register as an adopter online. The new services will significantly speed up meeting families with children in need of care and love,” said the First Lady.

So according to him you can use the following services in Diya portal:

– Adoption: Apply to the adopter for an extension of the application period. This must be done no later than 10 working days before the end of the previous period;

– Adoptive parents, foster parents: registration as candidates (first lady reminded: in a foster family, one to four orphans or children without parental care are brought up, and in a family-type orphanage (parents-caregivers) – at least 5 such children);

– Become a second foster parent or adoptive parent. If one of your spouses is registered as a candidate, you must make such an application;

– Custody, childcare: registration as a candidate (guardianship is established for children under 14 years of age, guardianship is established for minors from 14 to 18 years old);

– Adoption: deregistration of candidates for adoption.

The wife of the president explained that it takes about 30 minutes to fill out all the data, after which the child affairs service will process the application and carry out an ongoing check, all necessary documents will be automatically withdrawn from the register.

“Education of children in families, not in orphanages, is one of the conditions for our accession to the EU. And we are constantly moving towards this goal, including the simplification of procedures. But the most important thing for us is not formal education. Necessity. The most important thing is that a child becomes a family, “It’s the right to have loving parents. The child’s right to be happy. We’re fighting for this, we’re getting rid of boarding schools in favor of families.”

It was noted that the project was implemented with the initiative of Daria Gerasymchuk, the President’s authorized adviser on children’s rights and child rehabilitation, and the support of the United Nations Children’s Aid Association of the Ministry of Social Policy and the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. United Nations Development Program in Ukraine with funding from the UNICEF Fund (UNICEF) and Sweden.
