Samsung has recently introduced One UI 5.1 based on Android 13. It was launched alongside the Galaxy S23 series smartphones. The S23 series was the first device to ship with One UI 5.1. Shortly after, the company started rolling out updates to millions of phones quickly. However, not everything runs smoothly when updates are delivered too frequently, and One UI 5.1 is no exception. After the new One UI 5.1 update, some Galaxy phones are apparently experiencing battery issues.
The latest One UI 5.1 update has serious battery related issues. Some users on the brand’s official forum stated that their device’s battery life was significantly reduced after updating to One UI 5.1. Several people on various social media platforms also noticed the same issue. After the last update, some users noticed that their smartphone was getting strangely hot. It came as a big surprise to us when we discovered that these issues are more common among Samsung Galaxy S21 and S22 series users. SamMobile claims its readers reported the same issue to them.
There is no clear indication of what is causing the device to heat up and drain the battery. However, it is clear that the latest version of One UI 5.1 has some flaws, as consumers did not report any battery-related issues prior to the update. According to a Reddit user, official Samsung apps like Samsung Keyboard are using battery at an alarming rate. The company has reported the issue multiple times, but the brand has not offered a clear troubleshooting method or answer so far. This is a major disappointment for owners of the brand’s flagship smartphones.
Samsung hasn’t officially fixed this issue yet, but it could be related to hardware compatibility issues as some components on these devices don’t work well together when working with One UI 5.1 software updates. Unfortunately, we won’t know the reason for this drop in battery performance until Samsung makes an official comment. That’s all we have to address about issues reported by One UI 5.1 users. If you are using One UI 5.1, please let us know if the problem is with your device.
