Last year OPPO entered the foldable smartphone segment and a few days ago the company launched two new foldable phones in the domestic market: OPPO Find N2 and OPPO Find N2 Flip. The company announced for the first time that the OPPO Find N2 Flip, which competes directly with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4, will be available worldwide and will not be limited to the Chinese market.

Billy Zhang, president of overseas sales and services, says sophisticated smartphones continue to grow significantly, despite the overall decline in the smartphone market last year. This is probably the main reason why OPPO shifted its focus to sophisticated smartphones due to less competition and rapid growth.

He also claims that OPPO has been working on a complex smartphone form factor for a long time, adding that the time spent on it is similar to Samsung, which is currently the market leader in this segment. Although there are several devices on the market, foldable phones from Samsung and OPPO are considered among the best.

While Samsung remains the market leader, OPPO is doing well with advanced smartphones in the Chinese market. However, OPPO plans to focus more on Flip Foldable products rather than the Fold form factor, claiming that the clamshell style offers a more home-like experience. It will be interesting to see how OPPO manages to position its foldable smartphones in global markets, especially if the company is not a well-known brand in the North American market and Samsung still tightly controls this form factor globally.
