Single-board minicomputers are all the rage thanks to the Raspberry Pi push, and we have new ones every week. If last week we introduced you to the Pico Pi 2, today we bring you the URVE Board Pi from the Polish manufacturer EVEO.
It’s the same size as the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B, but includes some features it doesn’t have, including M.2 connector for SATA storage or other accessories; Power over Ethernet support, integrated microphone and RTC battery support.
The engine on the board is a SoC Rockchip RK3566 which is used in dozens of devices, SBC boards like this one or others like the PineTab2 tablet. It features four ARM Cortex-A55 processor cores clocked at up to 1.8GHz, Mali-G52 graphics and a neural processing unit powered by up to 0.8 TOPS of AI power. The SoC is complemented by 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage capacity, which can always be expanded using microSD cards.
Obviously, this board isn’t going to break performance records, but there’s one more section that’s more noteworthy: its connectivity. There is support for Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2 wireless connections, a 40-pin header, a MIPI-DSI/LVDS display connector and a MIPI-CSI camera connector. Except. It has a good number of ports, among which we can point out:
The URVE Board Pi supports Android and Linux and is available on the manufacturer’s website for 90 dollars.
