The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope has photographed a large-scale galaxy cluster in the Chinese constellation.
This was reported by the observatory, reported Ukrinform.
The image is said to be filled with a collection of elliptical and spiral galaxies, but the galaxies surrounding the central part of this cluster, called SPT-CL J0019-2026, appear to lie in bright arcs, as if distorted by a giant magnifying glass. .
This cosmic distortion is called gravitational lensing and occurs when a massive object such as a galaxy cluster has a gravitational field strong enough to distort and magnify light from background objects.

Gravitational lenses magnify light from objects that are normally too distant and faint to be observed.
The same galaxy cluster, designated SPT-CL J0019-2026, is located 4.6 billion light-years from Earth.
As reported by Ukrinform, the NASA/ESA Hubble space telescope photographed three star-forming galaxies in the constellation Volopas.
