On trials since the beginning of last year as part of Microsoft Edge Insider Program, Microsoft’s in-browser VPN became available to all users with the latest version. Named as Microsoft Edge Secure NetworkBrowser VPN is free and developed in collaboration with cloud flash.

One VPN or virtual private network it basically offers users a secure and encrypted connection. Such a service can be used to access web services that are usually blocked based on your geographic location. For example, in some regions, users use a VPN to access sites blocked by ISPs.

Microsoft Edge VPN has a data transfer limit

The initial test version of Microsoft Edge Secure Network was limited to only 1 GB of data per monthbut apparently Microsoft is planning increase this limit to 15 GB of data per month. It is worth remembering that in order to use the VPN, you must be logged into the browser with a Microsoft account.

Users can check if news is available in the browser by opening the settings and clicking on the “Privacy, search and services“. Find the Microsoft Edge Secure Network as shown in the image below and move the slider to “Capable”:

By clicking on the option “Manage secure network sites”, users can specify which sites the VPN will turn on automatically and which will never:

In a web browser, users will be able to enable the VPN using the toolbar icon. If necessary, check the optionAlways use a VPN for this site‘ so that it is enabled whenever that particular site is accessed:

If you’ve already installed the latest version of Microsoft Edge and the VPN still doesn’t appear as available, you may have to wait a few days for the feature to show up in your browser settings.
