According to the “Drone Army” project, specialized government agencies have already purchased 1,879 unmanned aerial vehicles for a total of over 3.7 billion hryvnia and trained 5,672 operators.
This was announced by the Ministry of Digital Transformation on Telegram, Ukrinform reported.
“The Drone Army provides the military with the best drones and supports Ukrainian UAV manufacturers. According to the report, they have already signed contracts with 1,879 unmanned aerial vehicles worth 3.7 billion hryvnia and have purchased the Shahed Fighters’ 6 anti-drone system.
The ministry added that under the project, more than 5,672 unmanned aircraft operators were trained to control unmanned aerial vehicles and use the technology in the fight against the enemy.
As reported, “Drone Army” is a project initiated by the General Staff of the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Digital Affairs. This is a comprehensive program in which the systematic purchase of drones, their repair and training courses for relevant specialists are planned. The project started on 1 July.
