16-year-old student stabbed a teacher high school in San Juan de Luz, a city in the French Basque Country, in connection with an event that is already under investigation and condemned by the government.

The attack took place this Wednesday morning and while authorities have yet to establish the exact motive, sources cited by French public television indicate that the alleged assailant, who was arrested after the events, he stated that he was possessed prior to the attack.

According to the BFMTV channel, the young man suffered from mental problems and assured that heard voices before stabbing the teacher. The juvenile had no criminal record.

A 50-year-old woman died after being stabbed by her student at the Santo Tomás de Aquino school in San Juan de Luz. The events took place shortly before 10:00 am. inside a private Catholic school, court sources said.

Although the teacher was given first aid at the scene, he did not survive his injuries.

The security forces considered the threat eliminated after arrest of the only culprit, that he would have acted in the middle of the class and that he had been transferred to the gendarmerie establishments. The teacher conducted Spanish lessons in the center.
