Beijing regulators have instructed WeChat parent company Tencent and Alibaba subsidiary Ant Group to make ChatGPT unusable both directly on their own services and through third-party apps in their storefronts.
ChatGPT is also blocked by China’s “Great Firewall” as it does not comply with China’s censorship laws.
At the same time, the chatbot service was made available to some users in the country through third-party applications on the WeChat system before it was removed by Tencent.
Nikkey Asia was the first to report this.
As reported by Ukrinform, Ukraine has been removed from the list of countries where ChatGPT AI chatbot is blocked.
