The U.S. government is awarding up to $10 million to anyone who provides information about Russian military intelligence officers involved in the NotPetya virus infection of computers in the United States and around the world in 2017.

This was stated in an official statement on the website of the US State Department, Ukrinform reported.

It was noted that the USA awarded the award to those who provided information about six officers of the General Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces – Yuri Andrienko, Sergei Detistov, Pavel Frolov, Anatoly Kovalev, Artem Ochichenko and Peter Pliskin.

They all work in Chapter 74455 of the game, also known as Sandworm, Telebots, Voodoo Bear, and Iron Viking.

They took part in the 2017 operation to infect computers with the NotPetya virus. The cyberattack damaged the computers of hospitals and other medical facilities in the Heritage Valley healthcare system in western Pennsylvania, a major American pharmaceutical manufacturer, and other private sector facilities in the United States. The cyberattack cost American organizations nearly a billion dollars in damage.

As Ukrinform reported, the malicious activities of the 74455th Military Unit of the Russian Federation were uncovered by the Western special services, along with some other structures controlled by the Russian government, which were involved in destabilizing the situation in the USA and Europe.
