Microsoft founder and former CEO Bill Gates came up with an interesting purchase today. Famous businessman, Netherlands-based giant beer producer 3.76% of Heineken he bought. The acquisition, dated February 17, was announced today by Dutch institutions.
According to documents shared by the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets, Gates did not make the entire purchase on his behalf. ports 6.65 million shares directly under his own name, 4.18 million shares received through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
The total value of the acquisition is approximately $1 billion

A total of 10.83 million shares purchased by Gates, 901.6 million equal to dollars. Gates or Heineken have not made any statement on the subject.
Bill Gates also acquired Mexican beer and beverage company Femsa in 2007. $392 million share had received. Most of Femsa was acquired by Heineken in 2010.
