A year after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, US President Joe Biden noted that, despite the passage of time, Ukraine remains an independent and free country.

“From Kherson to Kharkov, Ukrainian soldiers have reclaimed their land. And more than half of the territory that Russia had last year is again flying the flag of Ukraine,” he wrote in a tweet in which he shared a photo with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Today, a year after the bombs began to fall, Ukraine is still independent and free.

February 24 marks one year since the start of the war in Ukraine, when Russian troops entered the country in an attempt to overthrow the Zelensky government.

A few days ago, Biden made unexpected visit Ukrainian capital to talk to his colleague, concluding that Putin keep attacking leaving Ukraine at a disadvantage.

This Friday, the United States marked a year since the Russian invasion of Ukraine by announcing a new package $2 billion military aidwhich includes HIMARS missiles, artillery ammunition and drones.

“The United States will continue to work with its allies to provide Ukraine with opportunities to meet its needs immediately on the battlefield and their long-term security requirements for as long as necessary,” the Pentagon said in a statement.
