In the last few years, it has become more and more a part of the Internet to the device object. This, of course, was unnoticeable by criminals.
According to a recent report by analysts at SAM Seamless Network, in 2021 alone, hackers attacked 1 billion such devices. At the same time, about half of the incidents affected home networks and microbusiness.
Among the attack methods are considered classic “brute force” with phishing and DDoS.
Experts have found that most successful attacks are possible with incorrect settings as well as poor security measures.
Of particular interest is that attackers are actively developing sophisticated botnets. Their main goal is to “sift” the Internet in search of vulnerable devices. For example, representatives of this world named Mirai and Mozi have been targeting Internet of Things gadgets since 2016.
