As reported by Ukrinform, The New York Times reports this.
According to the interlocutors, the next round of expulsion took place on Saturday evening. Some employees have noticed signing out of their corporate email accounts and laptops as the first clue that layoffs have begun.
In total, approximately 200 employees, or approximately 10% of the approximately two thousand employees currently employed in the company, were laid off.
The layoffs have affected product managers, data scientists and engineers working on machine learning and site reliability that help support Twitter’s various online features.
The monetization infrastructure team that supports Twitter monetization services has been reduced from 30 to 8 people.
The paper’s sources said the layoffs came a week after the company made it harder for Twitter employees to communicate with each other. The company’s internal messaging service, Slack, has been taken offline, preventing employees from communicating with each other or searching company data.
It is said that Elon Musk, who bought the social networking company in October last year, will gradually reduce its workforce of approximately 7,500 people to cut costs.
As reported by Ukrinform, Twitter owner billionaire Elon Musk will be able to appoint his successor as CEO of the company by the end of 2023, but he must first “stabilize” the social network.
