It seems Manzana is committed to standardizing the experience it offers across the various iPhone lines. After the possible arrival of Dynamic Island in all models of the range iPhone 15now we echo that the bitten apple giant would consider using solid state buttons on all devices.
The concept of “solid state button” may sound a bit confusing, so let’s define it briefly. Basically, this means that Apple would use sensors instead of physical buttons that can be pressed and clicked, which is usually the norm for smartphones. In other words, it is assumed that the iPhone 15 will not use “regular” buttons and possibly suppress some of them. You know, until there is any information or official confirmation from Apple, it is important to take this information with a grain of salt.

As reported by Twitter user ShrimpApplePro, the alleged solid-state buttons on the iPhone 15 are very well designed, so shouldn’t be a problem for third party case designers. Apple has traditionally not been particularly open to third parties offering alternative accessories for its products, especially when it comes to the iOS ecosystem. But the company has long felt encouraged by a growing number of users complaining about its restrictive policies, and that encouragement has been strong enough to turn into political actions and movements that also affect Google and Android.
For solid-state buttons to offer the same or as close functionality as classic buttons, Apple would choose implement three taptic engines on the iPhone 15 series smartphones. This would be accompanied by a wider update that would include a different battery layout and other components.
It remains to be seen what Apple will eventually introduce with the iPhone 15, but it seems that the company is willing to introduce some important changes in order to relaunch its smartphones, which saw sales decline in the last quarter of 2022.
