Even Microsoft itself cannot escape the demanding requirements of Windows 11. The Redmond company has devoted the last five weeks to this. Update all your employees’ computers but interestingly some will still be using Windows 10. Is it a problem? Hardware incompatibility with these hardware.

Recall that Windows 11 wanted to have Trusted Platform Module 2.0 (or TPM 2.0) and new processors among its requirements. This forced the company to launch PC Health to check compatibility and a door was opened to install it without meeting the minimum requirements.

But the scenario doesn’t seem to be a problem for Microsoft. The company has decided to take the internal update process step by step, even though the new operating system has been on the market for more than six months. In fact, they describe it as a success: 190,000 computers have been updated and “percentage of devices that cannot be updated”.

Some Microsoft employees aren’t getting Windows 11 yet

As we saw above, the information provided by Microsoft is somewhat misleading. It only says the exact number of computers successfully upgraded to Windows 11, but it doesn’t show how much is left in the previous OS.. Instead if you specify what your move will be to finish upgrading all your equipment.

Employees who still have Windows 10 will continue to use it in the “next device update” until a new Windows 11 PC arrives from the factory. We don’t know when that will happen, but it’s clear they’ll have to wait a while and Microsoft isn’t in a particularly rush to complete the transition.

Planning. Microsoft is aware that Windows 11 has “very specific hardware requirements,” so they first analyzed their computer’s hardware using the Microsoft Endpoint Manager tool and determined which ones could or could not be upgraded. With this data, they created a rollout upgrade plan.

Preparation. The company used different channels (Yammer, FAQ, Microsoft SharePoint, email, Microsoft Teams) to keep its employees engaged with Windows 11. They also explained how long the upgrade will take and noted that the schedule for this will be flexible. They say they can decide when to start the process.

application. Finally, Microsoft used Windows Update for Business to automate the update. To do this, the responsible teams created the update policies based on data collected in the previous stages and were able to deploy it to their employees’ computers.
