A team of scientists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States has developed a new neural network with a unique feature. He was able to teach new skills to robots in time-lapse mode.
So, for example, to train a normal robot before, it was necessary to show the working machine, the program, several thousand images. Now for these purposes it is enough to show only a few training materials.
According to experts, the works they tested acquired new skills in the shortest possible time – in just 10-15 minutes.
It is worth noting the success of the new method. During their testing, scientists found that a positive result is achieved in 85% of cases. For comparison, when using the classical method of robot training, a positive result was found in a maximum of 45% of cases.
