MSI is expanding its line of computer monitors with a model with impressive features, confirming the growing use of OLED panels in high-end displays.

This is the MSI MEG 342C QD-OLED, the first monitor from the Taiwanese manufacturer to combine organic 10-bit light-emitting diode panels and technology Quantum dot (QD) which allows for better lighting control and provides the benefit of reducing the burn-in of other types of OLED panels. The monitor is similar to the Philips Evnia that we introduced to you last week, and the truth is that it looks spectacular thanks to the narrow bezels on three sides.

It is equipped with a curved OLED display with a radius of 1800R 34 inches diagonally. Widescreen with 21:9 aspect ratio and native UWQHD resolution for 3440 x 1440 pixels. Gaming-focused users should know that it supports AMD’s FreeSync Premium Pro image synchronization technology, which offers a refresh rate of up to 175 Hz and a minimum GtC response time of 0.1 milliseconds.

Although its main focus is gaming, it would be a shame to use it only for that, as it has features that allow it for other purposes. To highlight its maximum brightness of 1000 nits, certification for DisplayHDR True Black 400 and wide support for the main color palettes, 97.8% Adobe RGB, 99.3% DCI-P3 and 139.1% sRGB, plus factory calibration for Delta. E less than 2.

The MSI MEG 342C QD-OLED features SpectrumBar, which is not only a light bar that supports RGB lighting effects through the Mystic light function, but also includes a new Glow Sync function that allows the light bar to automatically synchronize with the displayed content. Added features like game intelligence and OLED Care are other examples of hardware squeeze software.

It has an ergonomic base that supports height adjustment and offers a complete range of ports, Display Port and the most advanced version of HDMI (2.1), so this monitor can also be used with the most advanced consoles, PS5 and Xbox X Series. It includes additional features such as a USB port hub and a KVM switch to connect peripherals and manage multiple computers with them.

MSI will start selling the monitor in early March in selected countries. We don’t know the price and with these specs it won’t be cheap, but you have to see the ‘level’ that computer monitors reach.
