Smartphone spec leaks are what are causing the hype in the tech sector. And if it’s about apple or Samsungevents escalate rather quickly.

Analyst reveals latest rumors TF International, Ming Chi Kuo that many love to hate – and refer to the specs of the future iPhone SE 4which can come with a 6.1-inch OLED screen and 5G technology developed by Apple itself.

What may appear in the new iPhone SE 4?

According to Kuo, the iPhone SE 4 will be the first iPhone to use Apple’s built-in 5G modem. The company used modem chips Qualcomm Snapdragon 5G starting with the iPhone 12 models. Meanwhile, Apple acquired Intel’s $1 billion venture to manufacture its own 5G technology in 2019, but so far it has failed to implement the process and use the technology in its smartphones. Apple’s proprietary 5G technology was expected to appear on models in the iPhone 15 lineup, but it looks like plans have been shelved and we’ll only see it on the iPhone SE 4 in 2024.

For Qualcomm, this news is very good. Today, Apple uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 5G modem chips in all of its devices that use this technology as a resource. When the company starts using its technology, Qualcomm’s share will drop from 100% to 20% in this Apple segment.

In 2023, Apple will continue to use Qualcomm’s 5G technology; understand

And the small apple company has problems to solve, or at least try to work around. Apple’s 5G modem chip won’t support faster mmWave 5G speeds, reducing the chip’s performance compared to the competition. The chip will work with sub-6GHz 5G networks, which include mid-band and C-band signals that are 10 times faster than LTE.

Apple has two issues it needs to address before it can reliably use its own 5G modem chips, Kuo said. “The main issue is whether Apple can overcome the technical hurdles associated with mmWave and satellite communications.‘ Kuo wrote.Whether or not the iPhone 16 series will use Apple’s 5G baseband chip is still being determined. The analyst also notes that once Apple starts using its own modem chip, Apple’s Qualcomm orders will plummet.

Other aspects Kuo touched on are the design of the iPhone SE 4, claiming that Apple has resumed all work on the smartphone, that it will have a 6.1-inch OLED screen instead of an LCD screen. He’s still in doubt about how much it will cost, thinking that Apple wouldn’t mind if the iPhone SE 4 was a bit more expensive than the models in the line, historically speaking.
