Google showed nine novelties at MWC 2023 features that could appeal to users of Android, Chrome, Wear OS and some of their services in the coming weeks, with some rolling out today. The intention of the giant Mountain View is not only to introduce new things, but also to improve the experience on several fronts.

The first thing is something we already posted and also from the same event: Magic eraser. It is a photo editing tool that allows you to select elements of a photo and eliminate them so that the process is as minimal as possible in the final result. As it is now clear, it uses artificial intelligence for its homework and will apparently remain pre-installed only on Pixel smartphones, while the rest Android and iOS devices must subscribe to at least the basic Google One planwhich costs 1.99 euros per month.

The Kitchen Emoji is a feature present in the Gboard virtual keyboard that allows ccombine two different emoticons into one, which opens the door to unlocking the user’s art streak or sending more complex hieroglyphs (the latter goes sarcastically). Google has worked to enrich the experience by adding more options, such as crossing the emoji with a basketball, a megaphone or different flowers to celebrate the beginning of spring. The company has left the door open to introducing more combinations.

Chrome It is an important application not only for Android, but rather the axis of Google’s business policy (the currency of exchange in many cases is user data). The browser will allow zoom up to 300% and set said zoom by default across the board so you don’t have to change it every time you open the app. Although the intention is for the function to reach the stable branch of the browser during the month of March, the most impatient can start using it by installing the beta channel (Chrome Beta).

The search engine giant is working on inclusion a “single note Google Keep” widget that allows one of the user’s notes to be added to the system’s home screen, including reminders, background colors, and any images that have been added to the note. This way, it will be possible to check things off the to-do list without having to open Google Keep first.

Google Drive, a cloud storage service, has allowed viewing of PDF files for years, but the company hopes that in the future users will be able to scribble on documents with just a stylus or finger without any special configuration. This can be used, for example, to highlight text.

Quick pairing also jumps from Android to Chromebooks, Google-powered personal computers running ChromeOS. Fast pairing, according to the English name Fast Pair, is a protocol that enables quick and automatic connection of Bluetooth devices, but this must be supported by both the computer and the connected device.

Google Pay is about to incorporate new animations, among which is one of the penguins, which, when it appears, means that the payment has been made correctly. In addition to making the app and service experience a bit more fun, it can also serve to make users feel a little less guilty about unleashing their consumer side.

And finally, Wear OS 3 will incorporate new sounds and screen modes. There’s monaural audio, which can reduce the feeling of split audio, and color and grayscale correction modes to tweak the look of the watch face.

And so far, the main features that Google intends to introduce or possibly deploy for Android, Chrome, Wear OS and its powerful ecosystem of services that have proven themselves for years, albeit at the well-known price of doubts about the privacy offered.
