Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, led by Talibanpublished a statement from his website announcing his death 80 citizens of Afghanistanincluding children, after shipwreck last February 26th.

At the moment, rescuers have reported the death of 64 people as a result of the crash of a boat off the east coast of Calabria. Eighty people were rescued, with more still missing, Reuters reported.

“It is with great sadness that we learned that 80 Afghan refugees, including women and children, have come from Turkey to Italy in a wooden boat, drowned and died in the southern Italian sea,” the statement said.

Similarly, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has stated that it is “praying for pardon for martyrs and the patience of the families and relatives of the victims.” He also urged the Afghan people to “avoid going abroad through illegal migration“.

Finally, he asked humanitarian community and charitable foundations, in particular the International Committee of the Red Cross, “to fulfill their duty to humanity by finding and handing over the bodies of drowned Afghan citizens in the South Sea Italy“.
