According to Taiwanese DigiTimes, the largest laptop manufacturers do not deny the increase in prices in the second half of this year. The measure may be due to a number of factors: rising production costs, logistical problems caused by another pandemic outbreak in China, and the geopolitical situation around the world.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreaks, China is periodically closing major settlements important to the smooth running of consumer electronics, electric vehicles and other industries. On the other hand, the Russian invasion of Ukraine intensified the upward trend in raw material and energy prices, widened the deficit and created an ideal storm of supply chain problems.

All of this could lead to higher laptop prices since June, according to the publication. Given the receding pandemic and the return of employees to remote offices and thus the decline in laptop demand, manufacturers that have increased production planned to begin lowering the prices of their products in March, but a new round of adverse events was another hurdle.
