Realme broke records with its 240W fast charging solution on the GT Neo 5, but Redmi decided to raise the bar a little higher by releasing its own 300W fast charging technology for smartphones.

Redmi announced its new record through a Chinese social network weibo. In the demo you can see in the video above, they are using a smartphone. Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition which has been modified with a 4100mAh battery so that the new 300W charging technology can be tested. Other modifications made by Redmi for the demo include the materials that make up the battery, the charging structure, as well as adding more than “50 security protection items” on a Double GaN 300W charging adapter.

And you can see the result above. The Redmi smartphone charges 50% in less than three minutes and 100% in less than five minutes. In the video, you can see that the technology allows the smartphone to reach a charging speed of 290.6W, which is slightly lower than the estimated 300W.

Of course, this was just a test, and there is still no information on whether Redmi will bring the technology to market in the presented format or even on the timing of when this will happen.
