China introduced the newest unmanned ground robot VU-T10 of China North Industries Group Corporation Limited (NORINCO). The combat robot is equipped with an electric motor and can move at speeds of up to 60 km/h. It can be controlled up to a distance of 15 km, but a repeater drone is required for this.
The 11-tonne VU-T10 ground-based unmanned aerial vehicle has a tracked platform and a remote-controlled turret. It is equipped with a 30mm cannon and a twin 7.62mm machine gun, as well as several electrically operated installations that throw smoke grenades.
In addition, the VU-T10 can be fitted with the NORINCO Red Arrow 12 guided anti-tank system and attack targets out of range.
The developers claim that the electric motor allows acceleration up to 60 km/h on asphalt. The battery charge takes four hours. Two stabilization targeting systems are responsible for guidance: one on the roof for 360-degree visibility, and the second – next to the main 30-mm gun.
On a truck basis, the communication range with the ground control station is up to 10 km and can be increased by 5 km with the help of a repeater drone. You can control the VU-T10 using the remote control, but in this case the distance is limited to 800 m.
The VU-T10 ground robot is suitable for reconnaissance, patrolling and strike. The machine can perform combat missions independently or support manned combat equipment.
The VU-T10 robot is equipped with circular vision thermal imaging binoculars and video cameras that increase the field of view at the sides. The remote control is provided by a terminal with two antennas.
