Last December, we shared with you the Diablo IV requirements estimate, and today we finally have confirmation from Blizzard. You’ll be glad to know we were on the right track with our forecast, and that official requirements are even lower, at their recommended level, than the ones we shared with you back then.
In the end, this is normal, because as I told you then, Diablo IV will be a cross-generational game, which means that it is made for runs smoothly on Xbox One and PS4 hardware, though I imagine it will have optimizations to take advantage of the PS5 and Xbox Series SX hardware.
With this configuration we will be able to play Diablo IV 720p resolution and low quality while maintaining a stable 30 FPS. It won’t be the best way to enjoy it, that’s for sure, but for it to work on computers over 10 years old, that’s quite an achievement.
We can play with this hardware configuration 1080p resolution, although no graphic quality or fluidity was specified. Looking at the minimum requirements, I imagine we can play with the recommended ones medium or medium high with a good level of fluidity.
These requirements are what Blizzard has given for the beta that will happen soon, but considering that the launch of Diablo IV is already very close no changes to the requirements are expected.
As for ray tracing, Blizzard confirmed it it will not be available in the beta version, so it didn’t provide information about ray tracing game requirements. So we’ll have to wait a little closer to the game’s launch to find out about them. Still, and considering how affordable this game will be in terms of hardware, I think it should do quite well with a modest GeForce RTX 2060.
Diablo IV is out on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series SX and PC June 6. The open beta will run from March 24th to 27th.
