New York resident Reyhan Ayas lost $10,000 shortly after a thief stole her iPhone while leaving the bar. The woman told Business Insider that she tried to regain access to her account, but encountered insufficient Apple support.
Ayas, 31, explained that she first followed the actions of the thief on the iPhone 13 Pro Max screen. The man saw her enter a simple four-digit password so she could quickly hack her account and then gain access to her banking apps.
The woman was unable to sign in to her MacBook laptop because she lost access to her Apple account. She contacted Apple Support, who recommended she get a new SIM card and a new iPhone. Ayas did this but still couldn’t access his account.
According to the news of Business Insider, 10 thousand dollars were withdrawn from Ayas’ bank account within 24 hours. During his visit to the official Apple Store, Ayas could not get help from Apple experts and solve the problem.
“Support was not helpful at all. I keep getting asked if I have tried Find My iPhone. Of course, I tried it right after the theft. And it didn’t help,” she was angry.
In one of the conversations with an Apple representative, Ayas was told that it is impossible to restore access to his iCloud account.
“Apple prides itself on its closed security environment. But if someone breaks into this closed security environment, it will be closed to anyone who has an account. It could backfire on you.”said.
