Five Japanese companies, including Panasonic Cycle Technology and Toyota Motor, are testing a new collision avoidance system for e-bikes to reduce accidents at intersections.
As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by NHK.
The system is being tested in Yokohama, near Tokyo, Japan.
Devices mounted on bicycles and cars use satellites to determine each other’s position, direction and speed.
When they approach an intersection with poor visibility, their smartphones give alerts on the phone screen and via speakers.
Firms said they aim to launch the system as early as 2025.
As reported by Ukrinform, Ukrainian startup Delfast has unveiled its new Delfast Top 3.0i electric bike.
